Motorcyclist arrested for exceeding 100mph

A motorcyclist driving in excess of 100 miles an hour was arrested on Highway 71, northeast of Burlington Junction Friday morning.

Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong says the chase began in Iowa.

"The Iowa deputy reported that he thought the motorcycle was on fire because he was seeing some smoke and flame.  There was a bag attached to the back of this motorcycle.  The deputy from Iowa had shut off his emergency equipment and was just following.  And he had a video recorder going capturing the speed."

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Jeffery Dean Robison, Jr of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, was previously suspended in the state of Missouri, and was served an Iowa warrant while in Nodaway County jail for eluding and speed 25 miles over the limit.
